Sarasaparill root is used mainly during summers. It has great value in ayurveda. This root is brown outside and inside it has a whitish color. The root has a nice pleasant fragrance when boiled. Usually a syrup is prepared adding sugar and mixed with lime juice and water to make a refreshing drink. These roots are available in shops selling ayurvedic herbs and roots. Usually the thin roots are much better than the thick roots.
Sappan wood is boiled with water and used to drink, specially during summers. Here we have used it to give a good color to syrup.
