Description

Mango mastani is actually a glorious and richer version of mango milkshake. Mango mastani has it's origins from Pune, in Maharashtra. A story about the origin of this recipe goes like this- an old milk shake shop in Pune made this drink and a customer who was very impressed with the taste said "mast", meaning lovely. The name of the beautiful wife of Maratha prime minister was Mastani. So "mast" and "mastani" combined together made the shopkeeper call the drink Mango mastani.There are slight variations in the way it is made from shop to shop and from home to home, though the basic ingredients remain the same.

Note

1) You can use either mango or vanilla ice cream.
2) If your milk is not thick and whole, you can add more cream if desired. Adding cream is optional.
3) Increase or decrease sugar according to the sweetness of mangoes.
4) Vegans can substitute milk with coconut milk, almond milk or soyamilk.

1  Tbsp.Cashew pieces
2  Tbsp.Mango, chopped finely

Method

1) Boil milk with cream and 2 tbsp sugar. Keep aside to cool. Then refrigerate to chill.
2) Blend mango pulp with chilled milk.
3) Pour mango pulp mix into 2 tall glasses.
4) Place a scoop of icecream in each glass.
5) Garnish with all the ingredients given under "garnish".

Serving Suggestions

Serve chilled.
