Barfi, (burfi) is a usually a milk milk based sweet from India. The main ingredients of plain barfis include milk / milk powder or condensed milk and sugar. The ingredients are cooked in a vessel until the mixture solidifies. Barfis are also made with fruits like mangoes and nuts like cashew, pista etc. Barfis are generally coated with a thin layer of edible silver metallic sheet known as vark. This barfi is made with mangoes & dessicated coconut.
1) Barfi can be stored in the fridge for about 2 weeks.
2) Adjust sugar according to the sweetness of the mangoes.

1) Add sugar to mango pulp and cook on a medium flame initially till it is reduced to a thick consistency. Once it starts to thicken, reduce flame to the lowest.
2) Once it is thick, add milk powder and dessicated coconut and continue cooking, stirring continuously till it starts leaving the sides of the pan.
3) Now add in cardamom powder, mix well.
4) Grease a plate with ghee and spread the mango mixture onto the plate. Keep aside for about 2 to 3 hours to set.
5) Spread silver foil on barfi
7) When cool and set, cut into desired shapes.
8) Keep in the fridge.
Serve at room temperature.
