Lady fish is white and slightly longish. It is a very clean looking fish. Fried lady fish is a speciality of Mangalore, a town in Karnataka, South India. Mangalore is a coastal area. Lady fish is called kane (read as kaa-ne) in local language.
1) While coating fish with rava, shake off excess or it will spoil the oil.

1) Marinate fish with all the ingredients given under marinade and keep aside for about 30 minutes.
2) Heat oil.
3) Spread semolina on a plate. Coat each fish with semolina & fry in oil till golden and crisp.
Serve hot with rice.
