Description

Israeli salad is also known as Arab salad. It is a mix of tomato, onion, cucumber, and bell peppers. Israeli salad is served on its own as a side dish or inside a pita sandwich wrap. Chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and bell peppers combined with a dressing of lemon juice, olive oil, and mint leaves.

Ayurvedic Note

1) Reduces pitta and kapha.
2) Helps in cooling body.
3) Good dish for obese people to reduce weight.
4) Helps in fat metabolism.
5) A good dish for summer.
6) Good for diabetics. Can be taken any time of the day, but, if taken for breakfast, brings down glucose levels.

Note

1) Mix salad with dressing only just before serving.

300  Gm.sCucumber cubed
50  Gms.Onion cubed
100  Gm.sRed capsicum, chopped
200  Gm.sTomato ,diced
2  Tbsp.Mint leaves chopped
0.25  CupParsley chopped
Dressing
2  Tbsp.Lemon juice
4  Tbsp.Olive oil
  Salt to taste

Method

1) Mix all the chopped vegetables together.
2) Mix olive oil, lime juice & salt .
3) Pour this over the salad.
4) Add mint & parsley leaves and toss well.
5) Serve chilled.

Serving Suggestions

Serve chilled. Can be had inside wraps or sandwiches or as a side.
