This dish is famous in the southern part of kerala. Thoran or stir fry dishes are generally made with vegetables and always coconut either grated or crushed is added. Kozhi means chicken in Malayalam.
1) I used chicken with bones. Can use boneless also. Actually with bone tastes better than boneless.
2) Chicken should defnitely be cut into small pieces.

Tempering | ||
2 Tbsp. | Coconut oil | |
2 Sprigs | Curry leaves | |
1 Tsp. | Mustard seeds | |
2 No.s | Whole red chillies broken to 2 pieces |
1) Marinate chicken with the the marinade ingredients for an hour.
2) In a pan or preferably an earthenware dish, add oil.
3) Splutter mustard seeds, curry leaves and red chillies.
4) Then to that add, shallots, green chilli, ginger and garlic and saute till shallots are golden brown.
5) Add corriander and turmeric powders. Then add marinated chicken and stir till chicken is brown.
6) Add half cup water and then cook chicken on a slow fire till cooked.
7) Lastly add pepper powder garam masala powder and fennel powder and bring to a boil and let chicken become dry.
8)Llightly crush grated coconut in a blender and add to chicken. Mix well. put off fire.
9) Lastly add a little coconut oil.
Serve hot with rice or chapathy.
