Description

This dish can be prepared and kept the previous night and can be baked the next day morning. Apples and cinnamon are a good combination.

Note

1) I used a square baking dish.
2) I used granny smith apple. You can use any.

FRENCH TOAST WITH CARAMELISED APPLES
4  Tbsp.Butter (saltless)
300  Gms.Apples,peeled and thinly sliced
3  Tbsp.Brown sugar /demerera sugar
1  Tsp.Cinnamon powder
4  No.sBread slices
0.25  DozenMilk
2  No.sEggs
1  Tsp.Vanila essence

Method

1) Melt butter and add apples. Cook for about 5 minutes till apples are just warmed. Add sugar and cinnamon and cook for about 10 minutes till apples are cooked. Apples should not be mushy.
2) Butter a 5*6 inch baking dish.
3) Add bread slices on top of apples, covering the whole of apples. Trim off the excess bread if it is too big.
4) Beat eggs well. Add vanilla and milk and beat again.
5) Bake in a pre-heated oven at 175 degree celsius for about 35 minutes or till the top is golden brown in color and firm.
6) Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
6) To serve, run a knife around the edges of the dish, place an inverted plate on the baked toast and flip carefully to bring the apple side on top.
