Description

Mulled wine is dry red wine cooked with sugar, spices, juice etc. After wine is cooked it looses its alcoholic effect. Hence to get the alcoholic effect, some people add either fresh wine or brandy to it. Mulled wine is popular in UK during christmas. Mulled wine is ideally had during winters.

Note

1) There are many variations of mulled wine recipes. This is the one i follow.
2) Adjust spices and sugar according to taste.

500  Ml.Red wine (dry)
2  No.sBay leaves
3  Tbsp.Sugar
4  No.sCloves
1  Tbsp.Ginger crushed
1  PieceCinnamon (1" each)
100  Ml.Orange juice, fresh
1  Tbsp.Orange zest grated / outer orange skin
3  No.sCardamom crushed
1  Tsp.Nutmeg grated
1  No.Star anise

Method

1) Mix all the ingredients together.
2) Keep on fire and let it heat for 30 minutes. Do not boil. Let it simmer lightly.

Serve warm.
