Description

This French word is pronounced as 'fran-jey-pan'. Frangipane is an almond cream filling made from or flavored with almonds. This filling can be used in cakes, tarts and pastries.
Traditionally, frangipane is made with almonds.Hazelnut and pistachio are also used as substitute.

Note

1) Butter should be cold.
2) I used almonds without peeling.

1  PinchSalt to taste
50  Gms.Butter (saltless), cold
1  No.Egg
0.5  Tsp.Vanilla essence
0.5  Tbsp.Milk

Method

1) Add almonds and sugar to a food processor or blender and grind to a coarse consitency.
2) Add salt and pulse again to mix well.
3) Add cold butter cut into cubes and pulse again to form a dough consistency.
4) Add egg and vanilla essence. Pulse.
5) lastly add milk and pulse.
6) Refrigerate the mix for one and a half hours.
7) Use as required in recipes.
