Description

Garam masala, the hindi word means hot (garam) blend of spices (masala). The word garam or hot is used here in the Ayurvedic context, meaning 'to heat the body' as the spices increases the body temperature.Each region in India has a cdifferent blend. Also almost all families have their own version.
This is my version of Kerala garam masala and also the simplest.

Note

1) While dry roasting ingredients make sure it does not burn.
2) It is better to roast each ingredient seperately.
3) I usually warm it in the microwave at 750 W for about 20 seconds for this quantity.
4) This gives about 10 tsp. of garam masala.

Method

1) Dry roast (without oil) spices individually. Then grind them in a mixer grinder.
2) Store in an airtight bottle when cool.
3) Use only dry spoon.
