Description

Since both, Granola and muesli contain oats, they are both considered to be the same. but that is not the case. Though both the dishes contain identical ingredients, they are different.
A Swiss physician developed muesli in the early 1900s. The original dish was made by combining a small amount of raw, rolled oats with an equal amount of ground almonds, a bit of lemon juice, some condensed milk and a large, freshly grated apple. Modern muesli is typically made up of raw oats, nuts, seeds and dried fruit. The dry mixture is traditionally soaked in milk and consumed raw.
Granola was developed in the United States in the 1890s. It usually contains oats along with nuts, seeds and dried fruit. The mixture is tossed with canola oil, butter or some other fat, sweetened with honey or maple syrup and baked until the ingredients turn crunchy. Granola is often served with milk or yogurt.
Granola is a breakfast food and also snack, popular in America. It`s light food, high in calories, but also healthy.

Note

1) Since all ovens are diffent start checking after about 35 minutes.
2) We prefer really crispy granola and hence baked for 90 minutes.
3) You can substitute wheat flakes with oats itself.

To boil
1  Tbsp.Butter, unsalted
3  Tbsp.Light brown sugar /demerera sugar / sugar
80  Ml.Honey
80  Ml.Water
1  CupAlmonds, sliced

Method

1) Pre-heat oven to 150 degree C.
2) Combine water, honey, sugar and butter. Bring to a simmer till sugar dissolves.
3) Mix this with all the dry ingredients, except raisins and currants
4) Bake for 90 minutes. After 20 minutes of baking, take out and mix well. Then stir after another 15 minutes of baking. Stir after 20 minutes. Then stir again from time to time.Add raisins and currants at the last 10 minutes of baking.
5) Granola will not be crunchy immediately after it is removed from oven. It will turn crunchy as it cools.
6) Then store in an airtight container.

Serving Suggestions

Can be served as breakfast with milk and fruits or with yoghurt. It can also be eaten as a snack.
