Description

Cashew is a native of Brazil. Cashews were bought to Goa in India by Portugese. In India, cashew is used as a snack, in curries and also in sweets. The kidney-shaped cashew nut is encased in a hard shell with two layers .Cashews are one of the most popular dessert nuts after almonds. They are consumed in their natural state, or in varous ways like chocolate covered and honey roasted cashews.They are also ground & added to gravies to give richness & body.

Note

1) if you are using salted butter, do not add additional salt.

Method

1) Pre-heat oven to 180 degree C for 10 minutes.
2) Mix cashew with butter, chilli powder, salt and curry leaves if using. Spread this out on a baking tray.
3) Bake for about 8 to 9 minutes. Immediately after removing from oven, the nuts may be soft. Let it cool. Then it will harden.
4) When cool store in an airtight bottle.

Serving Suggestions

Good as a cocktail snack.
