Description

For a low-calorie or non-dairy version of mashed potato, milk, cream and butter can be replaced with stock or broth. French version adds egg yolk to make Duchess potatoes. It's then piped through a pastry bag into flowery shapes/ rosettes. It's then brushed with butter and baked to light brown.

Note

1) Mash potatoes while warm.
2) After boiling potatoes, do not put in cold water. Let it cool down naturally.
3) Its better to boil potatoes with skin.
4) Cream can be substituted with milk.
5) Grated garlic can also be added or can be substituted for nutmeg.

300  Gm.sPotatoes
2  Tbsp.Butter
  Salt to taste
2  Tsp.Nutmeg grated
2  Tsp.white pepper powder
2  Tbsp.Fresh cream

Method

1) Boil potatoes.
2) When slightly warm mash them.
3)Then add butter & mix well.
4) Warm cream lightly.
5) Now add salt, nutmeg & white pepper powder to the mash.
6) Lastly add fresh cream. Mix everything well.

Serving Suggestions

Serve warm as an accompaniment to roast chicken.
