Balsamic vinegar is made from a reduction of cooked white grape juice and not a vinegar in the usual sense. Traditionally balsamic vinegar is aged for years. Balsamic vinegar of Modena (a place in Italy), an inexpensive modern imitation of the traditional product is widely available. This is commonly used in salad dressing with oil. Balsamic vinegar is available in some supermarkets. Though its a bit expensive, its worth trying.
1) Make sure the beans are cooked only till just done. If at all its over-cooked remove from fire and immediately refresh with ice cubes or ice cold water. This will prevent further cooking.
2) Use only French beans.

1 Tbsp. | Balsamic vinegar | |

1) Heat oil and saute onion and garlic for a minute (do not brown).
2) Add this to a bowl along with rest of the dressing ingredients.
3) Cook beans in boiling salted water until just tender, about 5 minutes. Drain. Toss with dressing.
Can be served at room temperature or cold. Serve as an accompaniment with roasts or any meat dishes.
