Description

Easy light dessert to be served specially on a summer day.

Note

1) If plums are sour, increase the amount of sugar.

VANILLA POACHED PLUMS
300  Gm.Plums, washed
0.25  CupCaster sugar
0.25  CupWater
2  SticksCinnamon
1  No.Vanilla pod, split & seeds scraped from the middle
1  No.Star anise
1  Tsp.Butter (saltless)

Method

1) Cut the plums into quarters and remove the stones.
2) Add the caster sugar into a pan with water, star anise, cinnamon sticks and vanilla. Gently heat until the sugar dissolves.
3) Slide the plums into the syrup. Bring to a boil, then let it simmer for five to 10 minutes, depending on the ripeness, until the plums are soft.
4) Leave to cool slightly and serve with ice-cream.

Serving Suggestions

Serve with whipped cream or ice-cream.
