Fish molly, or fish moilee or meen moilee is a mild sweet fish dish with gravy. Probably this was introduced by the British or was made for the English, as it is very mild to suit their taste buds and thick enough to mop up the gravy when having with bread.
1) Never let 1st extract coconut milk. It may curdle & also curry will not be thick.
2) If you want a thicker gravy, add 1 tsp of cornflour after onions are fried. Saute lightly. do not brown. Then proceed as given in recipe.
3) If coconut vinegar is not available, add ordinary or apple cider vinegar. Do not use brown colored vinegar.

1) Marinate fish with all marination ingredients. Keep aside for 30 minutes.
2) Lightly fry fish on both sides (do not over fry). Just 2 or 3 minutes of frying on each side will suffice.
3) In the same oil add garlic & ginger & fry lightly. Add sliced onion , curry leaves & green chillies. Fry till onions are light brown.Add turmeric pwdr.
4) Add fish & 2nd extract coconut milk & garam masala pwdr. Let fish cook.
5) Add tomato & vinegar & when tomatoes are half cooked, add first extract coconut milk & let it come to simmer.Do not boil. Remove from fire.
Serve with rice, hoppers , bowl hoppers or bread.
