Chaat masala is one ingredient that gives zing to snacks, tandoori dishes etc. Chaat masala is a spice blend consisting of black salt, chilli powder, cumin seeds and dry mango powder. There are as many recipes for chaat masala as there are households in India. Chaat masala is available in supermarkets, but home made is better and also without the addition of ingredients like citric acid.
1) Adding chillies are entirely optional. Increase or decrease chillies according to your spice tolerance.
2) Adding black salt at the begining of blending may make it slightly wet.
3) Add salt only if necessary after doing a taste test. Black salt will be salty enough.
