Cumin is one of the most commonly used spice in the world. It belongs to the parsley family.

Black salt, known as 'kala (black) namak (salt), a type of rock salt, with strong pungent smell. Contrary to the name black salt, the salt is pinkish in color.
1) Adjust chilli and tamarind according to individual taste.

50 Gms. | Tamarind pulp |
0.5 Tsp. | Chilli powder |
1 Tsp. | Cumin powder |
0.25 Tsp. | Black salt |
1) Mix dates and tamarind. Add 1 cup hot water to it. Keep aside for an hour.
2) Cook date tamarind mix for 5 minutes after it comes to a boil.
3) keep aside to cool. Blend to form a thick pulpy consistency.
4) Add chilli, cumin and black salt. Mix well. Use as required. Will keep in the fridge for a few days.
