Croquette is derived from the French word 'to crunch'. Croquettes are cigar shaped rolls which are fried after dipping in egg and rolling in bread crumbs. Croquettes are either made with chicken, meat,veggies, boiled egg or fish. It was introduced to India by British. Earler it was made to use left over meat.
1) Use fleshy fish like seer fish, tuna etc.

0.5 Cup | Oil for frying |
1) Boil fish with 1 tsp. ginger, 1 tsp. garlic, salt to taste and vinegar. Remove and let it cool. 2) Debone and mash fish well.
3) Boil and peel potato.
4) Add this to fish with all the ingredients, except oil.
5) Make a smooth dough and keep aside.
6) Beat egg and season with salt.
7) Shape dough into cigars or rolls.
8) Dip in egg and then roll in bread crumbs. 9) Keep in fridge for 10 minutes.
10) Heat oil. Deep fry croquettes on medium heat till golden brown. Drain on kitchen napkin.
Serve immediately with tomato sauce or mayonnaise.
