Description

Mojito (pronunced as mohito)) is a Cuban cocktail. Traditionally, a mojito consists of five ingredients: white rum, sugar (traditionally sugar cane juice), lime juice, sparkling water (soda) and mint. The original Cuban recipe uses spearmint which is popular on the island. This popular summer drink is a combination of sweetness and citrus and mint flavors which complements the rum.

Note

CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL IS INJURIOUS TO HEALTH

1) 30 mint leaves gives a real minty flavour, you may reduce the no. of leaves according to your taste. The original recipe however uses much lesser leaves & hence dont have that greenish colour which this recipe photograph
has.
2)You may use powdered sugar or sugar syrup (also known as simple syrup) instead of grainy sugar.
3)A muddler is a bartender's tool,(usually wood) used like a pestle to mash fruits, herbs, and spices at the bottom of the glass to release their flavor.
4)A cocktail shaker is a device used to mix beverages (usually alcoholic) by shaking. When ice is put in the shaker this allows for a quicker cooling of the drink before serving. if you dont have a cocktail shaker, pour the contents into a metal glass, cover with another inverted glass & shake vigourously.
5)Light rum (also known as white rum), is light in color and lightly sweet in flavor. It is produced from sugarcane juice and molasses, and normally has a short aging period.Unlike other rums which are aged in charred oak casks / barrels, light rum is aged in plain oak casks or stainless steel tanks, so that it remains clear.
