Description

Paneer tikka is an Indian dish made from chunks of paneer marinated in spices and grilled in a tandoor. It is a vegetarian alternative to chicken tikka and other meat dishes. It is considered healthy compared to fried dishes. A tandoor is a traditional clay oven with temperature reaching as high as 480 degree celsius.

Note

1) Do not over grill paneer. It will become hard.

1  Tsp.Garlic paste
2  Tsp.Chilli powder
0.5  Tsp.Dried fenugreek leaves / Kasuri methi

1  Tbsp.Mustard oil
1  Tsp.Cumin powder
  Salt to taste

Method

1) Take paneer and slice into big cubes.
2) For the marinade, mix whisked thick curd, ginger paste, garlic paste, chilli powder, kasuri methi, garam masala, chopped coriander leaves, chaat masala, capsicum, tomatoes, onion, cumin powder, mustard oil and salt.
3) Toss the paneer and vegetables gently in the marinade till all pieces are coated evenly. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
4) Then, arrange the paneer pieces and vegetables on the wire rack in a pre-heated oven at 200 C and grill for about 15 minutes (till the edges of the paneer turn brown).

Serving Suggestions

Serve with green chutney.
