Podi idli can be eaten as breakfast or as a snack.
1) Usually leftover idlis are used for this recipe. Fresh idlis may crumble.
2) Sesame oil can be substituted with coconut oil or clarified butter (ghee). Clarified butter makes the dish heavy. Traditionally sesame oil is used.
3) Idli podi is also known as idli milagai podi or gun powder.

1) Cut idlis into small pieces.
2) Heat oil in a pan.
3) Add onions and saute for a minute till translucent.
4) Add in idilis & idli podi & toss well.
5) Add salt if necessary.
Serve as breakfast or as a snack.
