Description

This grape juice is made after boiling grapes.

Ayurvedic Note

1) Grape is sweet in taste, cold in potency, easy to digest.
2) Good for anemia (pandu).
3) Helps in curing lung related disorder.
4) Helps in purifying blood.
5) Ideal drink for pregnant women from 4th month of pregnancy as it prevents anemia.
6) Excessive intake of grape juice (above 350 ml.) will lead to purgation(laxative).

Note

1) The grapes (name =Rose, with seed) i used was very sweet and hence, the above mentioned sugar was sufficient. So adjust sugar according to the sweetness of the grapes.
2) The sourness of lime juice cuts the cloying sweetness of the juice.
3) If you want whole grapes to be included in the juice, boil grapes used exclusively for juicing for this purpose. For this, boil a few grapes fully immersed in water. Let it come to a boil and let the skin just burst. Put off fire. Keep aside. When its slightly cold, peel of the skin and add to the juice. This gives a nice bite to the juice.
4) This juice is not a concentrate and hence no need for dilution.
5) Can be kept in the freezer for 2 to 3 weeks.

2  Kg.Fresh grapes, cleaned and destemmed
1.5  LitreWater
200  Gm.sSugar
2  Tsp.Lime juice

Method

1) Boil grapes with water. After first boil, reduce flame to medium and cook for 20 minutes.
2) Remove from fire. strain.Mash the pulp through a strainer. Seeds and skin should not fall into juice.
3) Boil juice again with sugar for about 15 minutes. Remove and keep aside to cool.
4) Add lime juice. Keep to cool in the fridge. Serve cold.
5) Adding ice cubes will dilute the juice.

Serve cold.
