Description

Chinese rice wine is also known as Shao Xing. This alcoholic beverage is made from rice. In China, it is also known as yellow wine. Rice wine is made by the fermentation of rice starch .
Beef is the meat from bovines, especially cattle. It is used in different cusines around the world. Beef meat can be cut into roasts, short ribs or steak etc. Beef meat is ground, minced or used in sausages. In certain parts of India among some religious groups, beef is revered as God and worshipped. Hence those people refrain from eating beef meat.

Note

1) Rice wine can be substituted with Gin.
2) Alcohol when cooked will not have the alcoholic / boozy effect.

100  Gm.sBeef, thin slices, cooked
2  Tsp.Soya sauce
0.5  Tsp.Demerara sugar
1  Tbsp.Rice wine
1  Tbsp.Corn flour
0.5  Tsp.Sesame oil
600  Ml.Chicken stock
1  No.Egg
60  Gm.sGreen peas, parboiled
  To TasteSalt
2  Tsp.white pepper powder
2  Tbsp.Spring onions chopped fine

Method

1) Coarsely chop beef.
2) Marinate in soya sauce, sugar, sesame oil and rice wine for 20 minutes.
3) Bring stock to boil, slowly pour in the beaten egg, stirring constantly.
4) Add green peas and bring back to boil.
5) Add beef slices with the marinade and stir well to seperate the pieces.
6) Add salt & pepper to taste.
7) Mix cornflour in 2 tbsp. water. Thicken soup by pouring cornflour paste. Let it come to a boil.
8) Serve garnished with spring onion.

Serving Suggestions

Serve hot.
